This cannot have been a quick, easy or inexpensive business choice, but by focusing (sorry - couldn't think of another word) on this and not going for the "quick buck" you have created a business model that is the envy of most businesses.

I am writing to thank the Bergen County Camera team of sales persons for the wonderful way they have treated me as a customer. Recently I jumped into the digital camera world having held out with my film SLR for years. Bob Gramegna was terrific. He spent time with me in explaining aspects of the Canon 10D and dealing effectively with my laundry list of needed items. At the same time he kept one eye out for what needed to be done in the rest of the store ... a feat he did with great skill.

Having purchased a few Nikons over the last 30 years, I’m at least a little comfortable with some of the rudiments of photography. (and purchasing) Enter the “Digital Age.” I did the usual Internet and NYC research and decided on the Olympus C2020 over the Nikon Coolpix 950. While not yet in the stores, the Coolpix 990 & C3030 were just being reviewed by magazines. I chose to wait for the C3030 rather than buy the C2020.

On September 20, I called your company to order a used Pentax Super program which I saw advertised in Shutterbug. The person who took my call was very friendly and courteous, and even though this was not a major purchase, treated me like a real person, rather than a number or dollar sign, as I have often been treated by other mail order companies.

Thank you for your quick response to my email regarding Gary. As it turned out I exchanged my point and shoot for the Olympus Camedia C-4040. After further thought, the point and shoot did seem pointless. Pardon the pun. Anyway, I probably was in the store for over 3 hours yesterday and once again, Gary showed such energy, knowledge, enthusiasm and determination to give a customer the full rundown of what is involved in owning this type of equipment. After spending time on the computer with the adobe software, handling various cameras, a choice was finally made. Even though my background was as a still photography, Gary showed me the great possibilities for the digital process. Frankly, it feels like I'm starting over. The one thing that does stay constant is my own personal vision.
