Lucien's photographs reflect his New Orleans roots. "Growing up there, I was always attracted to the light - whether it bounced off the muddy Mississippi, refracted from man-made levees or was diffused by tropical mists." Lucien's objective is to open a portal into the imagination by reframing the ordinary to highlight the hidden. His approach is to combine traditional photography with digital technology, in order to shift reality and to intrigue the viewer.
All Prices include custom framing.
Notes on Prints
Lucien's images are captured conventionally on film then scanned into the computer where they are enhanced and assembled in Photoshop. Images are then printed on an Epson 7600 printer using archival Ultrachrome inks. Prints are produced on two substrates - canvas and fine-art paper. Each canvas is treated with a four-coat combination of matte and glossy acrylic medium, after which they are stretched and famed. The final canvas prints yield a hybrid of photography and fine-art painting. His images on fine art papers offer their own special look.
