Bruce Brown: Winter Solace

Bruce Brown went to London in 1971 to begin his photography career. Over the next sixteen years he became an award-winning advertising photographer, shooting for such clients as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Marlboro, and Vogue. In 1988, when a serious accident left Bruce in a wheelchair, he decided to dedicate his life to his personal photography. A BBC documentary in the early 90’s exposed Bruce’s story to a wide audience and succeeded in giving hope to other people with serious disabilities.

Bruce’s first one-man show was in 1996, and in 1997 he had a show at the London Museum of Natural History. In March 2000 he was featured in a Christie’s exhibition representing the top 130 photographers of the last century. For the last 3 years, Bruce has been working in digital photography, concentrating his efforts on a series of flower images. Bruce has had one previous exhibit at Gallery 270 that was very well received, so we're excited to have him back again with these new images.
